ShortThoughts

- We are all programs we didn't write, running on hardware we don't understand. When we learn to decompile it all, examine the code, and make edits, we will have one of the keys to Godhead. And perhaps cease to be human. When we can rewrite our own programming, who can predict what we may become?

Right now we aren't even close, we haven't even figured out how to recognise the code, never mind download it for study - but we're working on it...

- When we figured out how to use electricity we got our hands on one of the tools in God's toolkit, and have done all kinds of clever stuff with it. And blown ourselves up quite a few times in the process, of course. Now that we are beginning to understand genetics, we have our hands on another of God's tools, a really cool one. Let's hope we don't kill ourselves figuring out how it works.

- Do you really need to win that argument? At least 95% of the time it doesn't really matter, so just let it pass. Amazing what a difference it makes.

- Whatever the purpose of the universe may be you're never going to understand it, so let God worry about it. Just do your bit the best you can.

- Scientists say that theoretically homeopathy can't possibly work, because the active ingredients are so diluted as to be virtually undetectable, yet there is a lot of evidence that it does. If minute doses which shouldn't be able to have any effect actually do, then presumably all the safety limits for chemicals in air, water and food are wrong!

- Why couldn't evolution be part of God's plan, anyway? What makes you think he told you all of it?

- Every time you talk or write to anyone about anything, you are adding a droplet to the sum of human knowledge & thought. Everyone makes a difference.
